I spent last weekend immersed at an incredible 3-day retreat and intensive mastermind – the very first Urban Monk Retreat hosted by Pedram Shojai, former Taoist monk, a Qi Gong master, film maker and founder of Well.org. He is also a best-selling author and an accomplished physician of Chinese medicine.

This was more than a retreat -- it was a life mastery program that was all about finding peace from within, calming the chaos and living life to its fullest.

If you’ve been reading my newsletter for some time, I am not one to claim absolutes very often.

However, when I read The Urban Monk: Eastern Wisdom and Modern Hacks to Stop Time and Find Success, Happiness and Peace, I knew I had stumbled upon something superior and distinctive in the industry. I just had to share it with you.

I’ve studied both ancient wisdom and modern science for 30 years, actively seeking answers, and I don’t often claim that one book can change your life.

Yet, I found the principles of this book to be truly transformational. Pedram Shojai reveals the secrets to finding a grounded sense of well-being. Even in the most stressful situations in our fast-paced World, his book shows ways to calmness and finding an open heart.

I encourage you to take the time to read this book (you can pick up a copy on Amazon) and you’ll:

  • Learn to honor your body with nutrition and shake free from addictions to toxic substances and experiences.
  • Let your body and mind unwind each day with evening meditations, loosening exercises, and resting rituals.
  • Learn priceless practices to use in your everyday life to find peace within and calm the chaos in your head.
When you act upon the codes set forth in this book, your level of consciousness will be elevated in an extraordinary way.

This book isn’t about blindly following a guru, like so many of the latest fad books. It is about practical concepts that are key to waking up to our full potential. That’s why I recommend it whole-heartedly to you.

If you’re wondering how the concept of an Urban Monk applies to you, I invite you to check out this video, join in on the conversation and explore what it means to live with balance in the 21st century:
